Bandra Blasters to face Eagle Thane Strikers in T20 Mumbai opener

Posted on May 15, 2026 By admin

The Wankhede Stadium is set for a two-week cricket carnival, with the Mumbai Cricket Association on Friday (May 15, 2026) unveiling the fixtures for Season 4 of the T20 Mumbai League and the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League.

The twin tournaments — featuring 30 matches across 13 days — will run from June 1 to 13, bringing together a blend of India stars, Indian Premier League and Women’s Premier League regulars, and Mumbai’s emerging domestic talent under one roof.

The men’s competition will begin with a double-header on June 1, with Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Bandra Blasters taking on Shardul Thakur-led Eagle Thane Strikers in the afternoon, followed by Tushar Deshpande’s Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals facing Sarfaraz Khan’s Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs in the evening.

The tournament is expected to showcase marquee names including Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi, alongside rising stars like Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Musheer Khan.

The women’s league — a landmark addition to Mumbai’s cricket structure — will commence on June 2, with Saima Thakor’s Thane Sky Risers taking on Sayali Satghare-led SoBo Mumbai Falcons.

MCA president Ajinkya Naik termed the tournament a “world-class cricketing spectacle”, while League Governing Council chairman Rajdip Gupta stressed that the competition would continue serving as a key development platform for Mumbai’s young talent.
