The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a market conspiracy and a commercial gamble, said P. B. Prince Gajendra Babu, general secretary, State Platform for Common School System – Tamil Nadu (SPCSS-TN) on Thursday.
Noting that right from 2016, various organisations had discussed that NEET would demolish the school education, he said that students were the victims. “The market will be guided by the profit-factor and not the welfare of the students. NEET’s impact will affect the public health system established by various State governments. Ten years of NEET process proves that all the apprehensions expressed since 2016 are true,” he said.
Pointing out that NEET is not an evaluation method he added that it has been proved that NEET was a challenge for critical learning. “Abolishing NEET and restoring the process of admission based on higher secondary/senior secondary marks is the only solution. Through normalisation, the marks granted by various boards can be equalised,” Mr. Prince said.
