Five people, including two children, were killed in a road accident on the Mahbubnagar bypass in the early hours of Monday (May 11, 2026).
The accident occurred when a sports bike, a Suzuki Hayabusa (HR 26 BP 1491) rammed into a car trying to take turn at the X-road between 12.30 a.m. and 1 a.m.
According to police, the car (TS 06 FG 4970) was travelling towards Kanakpet after the occupants had attended a function. As the vehicle was taking a turn at the bypass road junction, the motorcycle, which was travelling towards Hyderabad, crashed into the rear of the car.
Both persons on the motorcycle died on the spot. Three occupants seated in the rear seat of the car, including a woman, her seven-year-old son and her sister-in-law’s 18-month-old child, also succumbed to injuries sustained in the impact.
Police said there were eight persons travelling in the car at the time of the accident and those seated in the rear bore the brunt of the collision. Another woman sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. The identities of the deceased are yet to be established and a formal complaint is yet to be lodged.
