Lucknow Super Giants assistant coach Lance Klusener said his side still had “a lot of pride to play for” in the remainder of the IPL 2026 season.
“It’s tough, but I think we’ve all got a responsibility to our brand, we’ve got a responsibility to the people in our changing room, to our owners as well. Even though the playoff chances might be slim, we’ve still got a lot of pride to play for,” Klusener said.
The South African hinted that younger players may get a look in. “A lot of younger people may get opportunities going forward. The group has a responsibility to make sure they get the best platform to perform as well,” added the 54-year-old.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru spin-bowling coach Malolan Rangarajan backed wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma to return to his best.
“Obviously, Jitesh hasn’t started as well as he would or we would have liked. We’ve been supporting him, and he’s a very sorted individual. It’s not by chance he has played for the country, and he contributed for us last year as well,” Malolan said.
