Ambati Rayudu was on Tuesday appointed the head of cricket operations of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

Rayudu, who takes charge with immediate effect on an initial three-year term, said that he was here to serve Hyderabad cricket and that his ambitious vision centered around reform, transparency, and structural overhaul. At the heart of his roadmap lies a commitment to streamlining cricketing operations and ensuring fairness in selection across age groups – an enduring bone of contention in the region.

“I’m a firm believer that cricket should be separated from administration and all the other related matters. Cricket should be run with the players being the priority, and my job is to look after the players’ welfare. I want to make Hyderabad a powerhouse of domestic cricket,” Rayudu said.
