There have been a lot of speculation around MS Dhoni‘s future in the Indian Premier League with a lot of experts as well as fans saying that IPL 2024 can be the final season for the former Indian cricket team captain. Dhoni is one of the most successful skippers in the competition with five titles – the joint-most by any skipper along with Rohit Sharma. While Dhoni has not provided any official update about his future, his childhood friend Paramjit Singh provided a huge update regarding his playing career.

“I do not think this will be his (Dhoni’s) last season. He is still fit. I think he will play one or two more seasons. He will definitely play one more season. The reason is he is fit,” he told OneCricket.

Recently, Dhoni was seen practicing in the nets and his bat had a ‘Prime Sports’ sticker, which belongs to a shop owned by Paramjit. The picture went viral with many people praising their friendship.

Earlier, Paramjit, who played a major role in helping Dhoni get his first bat sponsor, has opened up on his bond with the former India captain.

During a recent interaction, Paramjit shed light on Dhoni’s gesture for him. He also revealed that the veteran wicketkeeper-batter also gave him a signed bat.

“I’m feeling very proud! MS has always been there with us, that’s our friendship. He’s given me his signed bat,” Paramjit said in a video uploaded by Sports Tak.

Having announced his international retirement in August 2020, Dhoni is only active as a cricketer in the IPL. He led CSK to a record-equalling fifth title last season after a thrilling win over Gujarat Titans in the final in Ahmedabad.
