Subsequently, he visited the Karpoori Thakur Memorial Museum in Patna, where he paid his respects to Thakur, who was awarded the nation’s highest honour, Bharat Ratna, posthumously by the President in January 2024.

Following his induction into the party, Mr. Nishant Kumar proceeded to the Chief Minister’s residence to seek the blessings of his father, Nitish Kumar. Thereafter, he distributed sweets among the staff and security personnel at the residential office, graciously accepting their good wishes.

The only son of Mr. Nitish Kumar, who is a software engineer by profession, then visited the Mahavir Mandir in Patna to offer prayers to the deity.

As a son of seasoned politician, who knows to make balance in social equation also went to Mazar located near the Patna High Court knowing the auspicious occasion of the holy month of Ramadan where he offered a ceremonial sheet (Chadar) and prayed for peace, harmony, and brotherhood.

People close to him opined that Junior Mr. Kumar is trying to get socially connected with the people and the well-wishers after making a debut in politics. On March 9, he began his day by remembering his late mother, Manju Sinha, and went to the Manju Sinha Park in Kankarbagh, Patna, where he paid tribute by offering flowers at her statue.

During his father’s nine terms as CM, he was rarely spotted at government or party events, subsequently, visited the Patan Devi Temple, where he bowed his head at the feet of the Goddess to seek her blessings.

His father who always maintained his image as a secular leader, tried to follow his path and then went to the Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Gurudwara in Patna City and prayed for the peace and prosperity in the state. During this visit, he also spent time interacting with members of the Sikh community.

On March 10, as soon as he received news of the passing away of the Samajwadi leader and former MLA, Satish Kumar, early in the morning, he immediately rushed to his residence in Kankarbagh, Patna.

There, he paid floral tributes to the mortal remains, met with his son and other family members to express his condolences, and also participated in the funeral procession.

Next in the line was JD(U) National Vice President and former MP, Bashishtha Narain Singh popularly known as Dada to meet him at his residence who has become bed -ridden to seek his blessings and also inquired about his health.

Following this, he visited the homes of his three paternal aunts—Usha Devi, Prabha Devi, and Indu Kumari—to meet them and seek their blessings before embarking on his new political journey in which he will visit all 38 districts of Bihar starting next month.

On the fourth day, he remained at the party office from morning until afternoon. There, he held meetings with senior party leaders, MLAs, Members of the Legislative Council, former MPs, spokespersons, and various office-bearers associated with the party’s organisation. Hundreds of party workers and leaders shouted slogans in his support.

He did not miss the chance to visit his ancestral village, Kalyanbigha (Nalanda) on March 12. En route, he stopped his cavalcade at several locations to meet with party workers and the public.

He made a special effort to interact with women and children, inquiring about their well-being. During the interaction, several women asked him to get married and extend the family.

Upon reaching Kalyanbigha, he paid floral tribute to the statues of his late grandparents and his mother. Thereafter, he proceeded to his ancestral home, where he had a meal and met with family members as well as villagers.

A large number of party workers from various parts of the Nalanda district gathered to meet him.
