Here Are 5 Short Speeches In English For Students To Deliver On January 26

Posted on January 25, 2026 By admin

India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 each year to mark the day the Constitution came into effect in 1950. Observed as a national holiday, the day is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm across schools and educational institutions, where students participate in various activities to showcase their talents.

Beyond the festivities, it serves as a meaningful opportunity to learn about India’s rich history, heritage, and culture. Below are five speech templates that can be used for Republic Day 2026 functions:

Republic Day 2026 Speech 1: Our Amazing India

“Good morning, respected teachers and my dear friends. Happy Republic Day to everyone! Today, we are gathered to celebrate the incredible country we call home.”

The Heart of India. India is so much more than just a spot on a map. It is a place where dreams take flight, where different cultures blend like a beautiful painting, and where hope shines in over a billion hearts.

Our country is like a magic box full of surprises. We have mountains that touch the clouds, rivers that sing as they flow, and forests where nature plays hide-and-seek. From the bright orange of our sunsets to the deep green of our swaying fields, India is a land of a thousand colors.”

“But the most magical part of India isn’t the scenery—it’s the people. We are one giant family. Even though we speak different languages and follow different traditions, we are all tied together by one name: Indian.

On this special day, let’s make a promise. Let’s promise to love, respect, and help each other every single day. Just like the colors of our flag, let us stay united and proud.”

“Thank you, and Jai Hind!”

Republic Day 2026 Speech 2: Our Brave Heroes

This version leans into the “Superheroes” theme, which is always a hit in a classroom setting. I’ve structured it with a clear “call to action” at the end to make it more impactful.

“Good morning, teachers and my dear friends. I wish you all a very Happy Republic Day! Today, as we see our flag flying high, it’s the perfect time to talk about what makes our country strong: Our Heroes.“

Real-Life Superheroes. When we think of heroes, we often think of movies and capes. But India is protected by real-life superheroes who don’t need movies to be brave.

Our soldiers standing guard in the cold mountains, our police officers keeping our streets safe, and our firefighters who rush toward danger—they are the ones who work day and night so that we can sleep peacefully. Even if we don’t see them every day, they are always there, standing like a shield for our nation. On this Republic Day, let’s keep them in our hearts and say a big ‘Thank You’ to them.”

Becoming a Hero “But here is a secret: You don’t have to wear a uniform to be a hero for India.

Each one of us can be a hero right here in our school. When you are kind to a classmate, help someone who is struggling, or stand up for what is right, you are making our country better. Being a good citizen starts with being a good person.”

“So, let’s celebrate our heroes today and strive to be like them tomorrow.

Thank you. Jai Hind!”

Republic Day 2026 Speech 3: Our Promises to India

“Good morning, everyone! Happy 77th Republic Day! Today is a day for parades and flags, but it’s also a day for something very important: Promises. Just like we promise to finish our homework or help our parents, today is the day we make promises to our country.”

Promise 1: A Clean and Green India. First, let’s promise to keep India clean and green. Our country is like a giant garden, and we are its little gardeners. Instead of throwing that wrapper on the ground, let’s find a bin. Let’s plant a tree when we can and take care of the world around us. A beautiful India starts with a clean classroom and a clean street.”

Promise 2: A Rainbow of Friends. Second, let’s promise to be kind to everyone. India is like a vibrant rainbow. We speak different languages and come from different places, but that is exactly what makes us special. In our classroom, no matter who someone is or what they look like, let’s choose to be their friend. When we stand together, we are unstoppable.”

Promise 3: The Power of Learning. “Finally, let’s promise to learn and grow. Every time we open a book or ask a question, we are helping India grow, too. Education is our superpower! By studying hard and being the best versions of ourselves, we are building a brighter future for our nation.”

“So, let’s keep these promises today and every day. Let’s make our India proud!

Thank you, and Jai Hind!”

Republic Day 2026 Speech 4: Our Future Leaders

Good morning, respected teachers and my dear friends. Happy 77th Republic Day to all of you!

Today, we see the tricolor flying high and hear the national anthem with pride. But have you ever wondered: Who will build the India of tomorrow? If you look to your left and your right, you’ll find the answer. It’s you, it’s me, and it’s every one of us in this room.”

The Seeds of Tomorrow. “We are the future leaders, thinkers, and creators of our country. Right now, we might feel small, but remember—even the biggest Banyan tree started as a tiny seed. By being in school today, asking questions, and being curious, we are growing into the wise citizens India needs. Our country doesn’t just need people; it needs young minds full of big ideas and hearts full of love.”

The Puzzle of Unity. “We can start being leaders today, not just in the future. We lead when we share our lunch, when we care for a sad friend, and when we work together as a team. Think of India as a giant, beautiful puzzle. Each one of us is a unique piece. Without you, the picture of our country is incomplete! When we stay united, we show the world how strong India really is.”

“So, on this Republic Day, let’s dream the biggest dreams possible. Let’s work hard to make them come true – not just for ourselves, but for our nation. The future of India is literally in our hands, and I know we are going to make it bright and beautiful!

Thank you. Jai Hind!”

Republic Day 2026 Speech 5: Celebrating Our 77th Republic Day

“Good morning, teachers and my dear friends! I am so excited to stand here today to talk about a very special milestone—our 77th Republic Day! Today is a day of joy, pride, and celebration for every Indian.”

What is a ‘Republic’? “We often hear the word ‘Republic,’ but what does it actually mean? It’s a big word with a simple, beautiful meaning: It means the power to run this country belongs to us—the people.

Seventy-seven years ago, our great leaders sat down to write the Constitution. They wanted India to be like a massive family where everyone has a voice, and everyone’s opinion matters. They gave us the rules that make sure we are all treated fairly and with respect.”

The Birthday of Our Rules. “Think of today as a giant birthday for our laws! For over seven decades, we have worked together to make our nation stronger. When you see the Tricolor waving high in the sky today, remember what it stands for:

  • Saffron for courage
  • White for peace
  • Green for prosperity. And that blue wheel in the center? That’s the Ashoka Chakra, reminding us that our country is always moving forward toward truth and justice.”

A Day of Promise. “While we enjoy the songs, the dances, and the sweets today, let’s not forget the heroes who made this possible. They dreamed of a free India, and today, we are living in that dream.

As students, our job is to keep that dream alive. We do that by doing our best in class, by being kind to our neighbors, and by promising to make India a wonderful place for everyone.”

“So, let’s celebrate with pride in our hearts! Happy Republic Day to one and all.

Thank you! Jai Hind!”
