Tamil Nadu batter B. Sai Sudharsan will be out of action for at least a few weeks after suffering a rib injury during the Vijay Hazare Trophy game against Madhya Pradesh last week.
The southpaw is now at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, where he is undergoing rehab. Sai Sudharsan injured himself when he dived to complete a run during his knock of 51. He retired hurt, came back to bat again towards the end, and was the last TN batter dismissed in that game, which his side lost by two wickets. Earlier last year, Sai Sudharsan made his Test debut and has featured in six games for India.
Meanwhile, TN, which has lost three of its four matches, will be strengthened for the next two games, with Washington Sundar and Varun Chakaravarthy set to feature against Rajasthan (Saturday) and Tripura (Tuesday). The BCCI has asked the duo to play these games ahead of the white-ball series against New Zealand, which starts on January 11. and includes three ODIs and five T20Is.
