The move is aimed at strengthening security checks and ensuring applicants comply with visa rules. As a result, visa interview appointments from mid-December onward are being widely rescheduled, with delays stretching several months in some cases. The changes come amid tighter H-1B policies, including a recently announced fee hike. Indian professionals, who form the majority of H-1B holders, are expected to be most affected.
